According to reports, Kiara Advani was initially slated to be the lead actress for Don 3, but she stepped down from the role due to her pregnancy. Along with this, rumours are now abuzz that Vikrant Massey, who was supposed to be the antagonist in Don 3, has also quit the project. Here are two actors who are speculated to take up the role now.
Vikrant Massey reportedly exits Don 3
Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment had officially announced that Ranveer Singh would be stepping into the shoes of Shah Rukh Khan to play the titular character in the third instalment of Don. Rumours have been circulating around for the lead actress and antagonist roles. A Bollywood Hungama report has suggested that Vikrant Massey was initially roped in to play the antagonist opposite Ranveer, but he has now quit the project.
A source close to the portal said that Vikrant was supposed to portray a complex character who is a charming and persuasive fraudster. According to the report, the 12th Fail actor was dissatisfied with the weightage of his character and wanted it to have more substance, as well as some intense fighting scenes against Ranveer’s lead character. The insider source was quite as saying:
“There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on.”
Who could take up the antagonist’s role in Don 3?
Director, Farhan Akhtar was supposed to start the shooting process of Don 3 in January 2026. Hence, the alleged exit of lead actor, Kiara Advani and villain, Vikrant Massey, has put Farhan in a tight spot. It’s mid-2025, and the main cast for Don 3 has not been finalised yet. Amid all this rush, reports have hinted towards two actors who might have been approached to play the character of the con artist. Those actors are Vijay Deverakonda and Aditya Roy Kapur. Rumours are circulating that either of these actors might be cast in the film; however, there are no official confirmations.
Coming to the lead actress, there are some speculations that Kriti Sanon has joined the star cast after Kiara Advani exited the project due to her impending motherhood. Kriti was also spotted outside Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment office. However, there are also rumours that the Don 3 production schedule has been delayed so that Kiara can return to set as the lead actress opposite Ranveer Singh.

Don 3‘s schedule has been allegedly delayed due to the massive trolling Ranveer Singh faced after Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment announced that he would be the new ‘Don’. The actor also had to go through intense MMA training to prepare for the role. Kiara Advani had reportedly been signed for the role of ‘Roma’, ‘Don’s ladylove. However, the film team had to halt operations again as Kiara embraced motherhood. Amidst all this, Farhan Akhtar is wrapping up the shoot of his upcoming film, 120 Bahadur, where he is playing the lead. Hence, the producer and director of Don 3 is busy with his own acting endeavours currently.
