Tom Francis chose Morgenthal Frederics for his first fashion collaboration. The British actor, known for his work as Joe Gillis in the Broadway musical “Sunset Boulevard,” created a bespoke horn eyewear collection in partnership with the luxury brand.
“When I first signed with my agent, an opportunity with an eyewear brand was the first thing that I said I really wanted to try for,” Francis told WWD. “She came to me with, in my opinion, one of the most illustrious and well-crafted eyewear companies that exists, so it was just an absolute joy that Morgenthal Frederics wanted to partner with me. I can’t believe this is my first sort of soiree, into the fashion world with a collaboration, and I’m really excited to see where it goes.”

Inspired by iconic Hollywood actors, the collection features four styles, Brando, Freeman, Flynn and Flynn Sr. — each handcrafted in Germany and featuring pieces made of buffalo horn, a signature of Morgenthal Frederics.
“It felt very natural to kind of pay homage to each of them in their own unique way. For instance, Marlon Brando, I’ve always taken influence from him with nods to tight-fitting white T-shirts and leather jackets. I just think he’s the epitome of style,” he said.

The Tom Francis for Morgenthal Frederics Collection comes at a special moment in the actor’s career. In 2025, Francis received his first nomination for a Tony Award for his work in “Sunset Boulevard,” which had previously earned him a Laurence Olivier Award in 2024. The breakthrough role took his fame to a new level, which made him more aware of his style.
“Being more in the public eye makes me think about my presentation. As I’m leaving the house, I’ve started getting stopped for photos on the street, and I always want to feel my best. At times, it can feel like a lot of pressure, but it’s a fun pressure to have,” Francis said.

The actor has also gone viral on TikTok, where he posts videos under his Soda Scout persona. “You can get so much feedback on social media, and it’s about making the decision whether you’re going to listen to it or not. It’s something that’s so unavoidable, so I think it’s important to try and use it to your advantage,” he said.
