On their latest, self-titled album, Lucius invite you into their universe, and in this session, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig talk about why they love creating a world their listeners can escape into.

“I think it’s, like, innately human to play,” Laessig says. “It’s like little kids love to pretend, and it’s play.”

Speaking of little kids, Holly and Jess both have them. They talk about bringing them on tour.

“You just have to be present,” Wolfe says. “For better or for worse, you can’t think about things that are not important.”

This episode of World Cafe was produced and edited by Kimberly Junod. The web story was created by Miguel Perez. Our engineer is Chris Williams. Our programming and booking coordinator is Chelsea Johnson and our line producer is Will Loftus.
