    Veteran actor B Saroja Devi has died at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy that spans over 200 films. The legendary actor featured in over 200 films during her acting career and was the first female superstar of Kannada cinema. She made her debut in 1955 with “Mahakavi Kalidasa”.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, honouring her significant contributions to the arts. He wrote, “Saddened by the passing of the noted film personality, B. Saroja Devi Ji. She will be remembered as an exemplary icon of Indian cinema and culture.” Her performances were noted for their diversity and impact across generations, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

    Known as the first female superstar of Kannada cinema, she made her mark in the industry with her debut in 1955 in ‘Mahakavi Kalidasa’. Her career spanned several decades, during which she became a beloved figure in the film industry.
