Superman has taken a very good opening at the box office, and has continued with the solid momentum that Hollywood films have at the moment at the India Box Office. According to very early estimates, the James Gunn directed Superhero Comedy has collected in the range of Rs. 7.50 cr. to Rs. 8 cr. on Friday.

The opening of the film is lower than Jurassic World, but it has the chance to score better numbers in the long run, as the word of mouth is a lot better. The first weekend of Superman will stand around the Rs. 30 cr. mark, and the film will hope to hit a half century at the box office by the 2nd Friday.

Superman is doing best in urban centres, but the positive word of mouth could get the mass belts on board over the weekend. After F1 and Jurassic World, it’s a hat-trick of successes for Hollywood films in India, and hopefully, Fantastic Four could continue the momentum a couple of weeks later.

Superman is a loved character and one of the most iconic superheroes of all time, which gives the film a wider than usual appeal for the Indian Audience.
