Ankit Gupta is one of the most popular faces of the Indian TV industry. With his beloved on-screen characters and his real off-screen personality, the actor has amassed a huge fan following. After his stint in Bigg Boss 16, Ankit was also linked up with co-contestant and Udaariyaan co-star, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. Recently, the actor talked about how he was forced into participating in Bigg Boss 16 and revealed that he was single when he entered the show. Additionally, Ankit also got candid about his recent hospitalisation due to a panic attack.

Ankit Gupta reveals he was forced to do Bigg Boss 16

Ankita Gupta rose to stardom with his portrayal of ‘Fateh’ in the popular Colors TV serial, Udaariyaan, produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey. As soon as his character was dropped from the show, the actor was singed by Sargun for another show called Junooniyatt. In Farah Khan’s vlog, where Ankit was her recent guest, he revealed that since there were 3-4 months before Junooniyatt‘s shooting process would start, Sargun asked him to join another show in the meantime. Ankit was asked to either join Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, or Bigg Boss 16

Ankit said that since there was a few months gap before his upcoming show would be shot, the makers might have thought that he would join another show. So, he was forced to join a reality TV show in the same channel during the buffer time. Out of the three options given, Sargun implored him to join Bigg Boss 16. After weeks-long negotiations, Ankit finally joined the Salman Khan-hosted controversial show with Udaariyaan co-star, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. In the vlog he said:

“Mai Bigg Boss gaya nahi bheja gaya tha. The day I finished Udaariyaan, the very same meeting, I signed Junnoniyat. Uss time sirf muje naam pata tha. Usko shuru hone mai 3-4 mahine the. Unko laga shayad ye 4 mahine ka gap hai ye kahi aur jaa sakta hai.”

Ankit Gupta says he was ‘alone’ when he entered the Bigg Boss 16 house

Farah Khan asked Ankit whether he was ‘alone’ or not when he entered the Bigg Boss 16 house. Sh further said that everyone was confused whether he was ‘alone’ or with someone. This hinted towards his alleged relationship with co-star and co-contestant, Priyanka. They had entered the house together. Priyanka and Ankit also did not say anything about their relationship status but were often seen spending time together, and hinted at being more than friends since they were working on Udaariyaan together.

However, Ankit said to Farah Khan that he was ‘alone’ when he entered the house, indirectly revealing that he was single. The actor further explained that if he is not ‘alone’ then he doesn’t hide it, instead says that he is not. It is interesting to note that Ankit and Priyanka never denied or confirmed their relationship. Hence, the actor saying that he is always clear about his relationship status might mean that the two were never romantically involved. Additionally, the rumoured couple had also unfollowed each other a long time ago, giving rise to break-up speculations.

Ankit Gupta talked about his recent panic attack

Ankit revealed to Farah that he was recently hospitalised due to a gastric and panic attack. Now, the actor is following a strict dietary regimen and working towards getting better. When asked about the symptoms, Ankit said, “Breathlessness, palpitation hoti hai. BP shoot up ho jaata hai. Feels like saas kabhi bhi band ho jayegi”.
