The newly released trailer for Outlander: Blood of My Blood delivers a jaw-dropping revelation — and it’s not just Jamie Fraser’s lineage getting the spotlight this time. Fans are about to learn that Claire Randall wasn’t the first time traveler in her family.
Premiering Friday, August 8 at 9/8c, the upcoming prequel series dives deep into the early love stories that set the stage for the beloved time-hopping romance. It follows two couples: Jamie’s parents — Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater, Pennyworth) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy, Condor’s Nest) — and Claire’s parents — Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield, We Hunt Together) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine, Treadstone).
While previous teases hinted at a dual-era love story, the full trailer now confirms that Claire’s parents aren’t just World War I romantics — they, too, pass through the mysterious standing stones and find themselves in 18th-century Scotland. There, they come face-to-face with Ellen and Brian, linking the families long before Claire and Jamie’s fateful meeting.
According to the official series description, the story “centers on two parallel romances, one unfolding in the rugged Scottish Highlands of the early 1700s, the other in war-torn England during World War I.” But with time travel in the mix, those two timelines are destined to collide in unexpected ways.
With its sweeping love stories, rich historical setting, and this surprise twist, Blood of My Blood is shaping up to be more than just a prequel — it’s an essential new chapter in the Outlander universe.
