Hollywood’s most gorgeous couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, left their fans heartbroken when they announced their separation in 2016, two years after tying the knot. As their divorce details get finalised, the couple’s legal battle has once again gained pace as Brad has demanded private communications from ex-wife Angelina Jolie in a new filing relating to their legal battle over Chateau Miraval.
Brad Pitt demands private texts of ex-wife, Angelina Jolie’s winery sale
It was on June 30, 2025, when the F1 star filed a court document sharing his attempts to depose Alexey Oliynik, an employee of the Stoli Group. The actor claimed that Alexey had firsthand knowledge of Angelina Jolie’s 2021 sale of the French winery, which the former couple co-owned, to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group. According to a report by PEOPLE, Brad filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife, Angelina, in February 2022, alleging that she had made the sale despite a prior agreement that neither would do so without the other’s approval.
The Maleficent star, Angelina Jolie, responded to Brad Pitt’s lawsuit with a countersuit in September 2022, claiming he’s been ‘waging a vindictive war against’ her since she filed for divorce in 2016. However, when the stars were reached out for a comment, their representatives were not available with any updates, which might be an indication that the cold war between the star couple will be getting even more heated.
Brad Pitt’s submission to the Superior Court of California
According to PEOPLE’s report and Brad Pitt’s documentation in the Superior Court of California, Alexey Oliynik refused to turn over the relevant documents or appear for a deposition. The latter has argued that he could not be forced to appear for a deposition since he was not a permanent resident of the US but of Switzerland. The actor’s legal team was quoted as saying:
“These requests go directly to key allegations about Pitt’s objections to the sale. Easily meet the standard for discoverability given Pitt’s allegations that Jolie acted with malice in selling to Stoli, a counterparty she knew Pitt opposed.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie share six children together. Their divorce was finalised in December 2024, almost a decade after the actress applied for divorce. Her legal team has shared in court documents that Brad refused to buy her out of the winery business because she didn’t want to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The team referred to the private jet flight in 2016 in which Brad was allegedly abusive with his family and stated:
“It was designed to force her silence about his abuse and cover-up.”
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the endless NDAs
In May 2024, a judge ruled that Angelina Jolie must produce the non-disclosure agreements from the past eight years. This was an attempt to illustrate that the actress had herself used the kind of NDAs that she later objected to signing in 2021. While a source close to Brad claimed that Angelina’s actions have caused tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family, the actress’ close source told PEOPLE:
“Sadly, until he drops his lawsuit, this family will not have the peace and healing they so very much desire and deserve.”
