Netflix has released the trailer for the highly anticipated series Wednesday Season 2, featuring Jenna Ortega reprising her role as the delightfully macabre Wednesday Addams.
The trailer opens with the Addams family — including Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmn), and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) — dropping Wednesday back at Nevermore Academy. “How does it feel?” Morticia asks. “Like returning to the scene of the crime,” Wednesday replies coldly, hinting that things are far from calm.
As reported by Deadline, Season 2 introduces a new character, Barry Dort, the new principal of Nevermore, played by Steve Buscemi. Dressed in all purple and brimming with positivity, Dort refers to Wednesday as Nevermore’s savior — a nod to her heroics in Season 1.
As Wednesday reunites with her best friend and roommate Enid (Emma Myers), she experiences a disturbing vision—one where Enid is dead and Wednesday might be responsible. Disturbed by what she’s seen, Wednesday confides in her mother, who warns her not to let the past repeat itself.
This season also introduces Grandmama, played by Joanna Lumley, whose mysterious powers are yet to be revealed.
Returning cast members include Joy Sunday as Bianca, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and Joonas Suotamo as Lurch. While the trailer does not show Lady Gaga, her rumored appearance as a Nevermore teacher continues to stir excitement.
SEASON SPLIT SEASON AND DOOM TOUR
Wednesday Season 2 will premiere in two parts, with Part 1 arriving on August 6 and Part 2 on September 3. The cast and creators are also hitting the road for the “Doom Tour,” with global stops planned across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia to promote the new season.
