Mark Epstein, the brother of disgraced financier and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has sharply criticised the FBI and Department of Justice over their recent conclusion that his brother died by suicide. He said he “laughed” at the official findings, calling them “stupid” and lacking credibility, reports New York Post. The DOJ released a memo on Sunday stating that after an “exhaustive review,” investigators concluded Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself in his Manhattan prison cell on August 10, 2019. “After a thorough investigation, FBI investigators concluded that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City,” the memo said. But Mark Epstein dismissed the conclusion during an appearance on CUOMO on NewsNation, arguing that the evidence still points to the possibility of murder. “Every time they say something or try to do something to quash that he most likely was murdered, they put their foot further in their mouth,” he said.He took aim at FBI Director Kash Patel, who recently reiterated the suicide conclusion. “When Kash Patel came out with that statement, I laughed at how stupid it was,” Mark Epstein said. He added sarcastically, “You know, that’s basically what he said — ‘You know a suicide when you see it.’”Mark Epstein questioned Patel’s qualifications to make such a claim, pointing out that he is neither a forensic pathologist nor a medical expert. “Does he even have a Boy Scout merit badge for first aid?” he asked. He also mentioned that two doctors, Dr Kristin Roman and Dr Michael Baden, took part in the autopsy. He said both were not able to clearly say how Jeffrey Epstein died. To him, this made it more likely that his brother was murdered and not that he took his own life. The DOJ also said in the memo that no evidence had been found of Epstein keeping a so-called “client list,” despite earlier claims by Florida’s former attorney general Pam Bondi, who said in February that she had the list “sitting on my desk right now to review.”Additionally, Mark Epstein revealed he had requested surveillance footage from outside Jeffrey Epstein’s cell from the night of August 9, 2019, to the next day. He said he was first told the footage was unavailable due to an ongoing investigation, but later informed that the camera “did not show the area.”
