It’s officially a wrap for War 2, the highly anticipated action spectacle from Yash Raj Films’ spy universe. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in lead roles, and is set to hit theatres worldwide on August 14, 2025.
Hrithik Roshan gets emotional as War 2 wraps up: “149 days of blood, sweat, and injuries”
The final day of the shoot ended on a high note with an extravagant dance number choreographed by Bosco Martis and featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The celebration didn’t stop there — Hrithik, Ayan, and Jr NTR cut a cake with the crew and personally thanked everyone involved. Hrithik later hosted a private dinner at his residence, inviting Jr NTR and his family, Kiara Advani, director Ayan Mukerji, and the YRF team to mark the wrap.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Hrithik Roshan shared an emotional note reflecting on the journey of War 2 and his iconic character, Major Kabir Dhaliwal. He wrote, “Feeling a mixed bag of emotions as the cameras stopped rolling for #War2. 149 days of relentless chase, action, dance, blood, sweat, injuries… and it was all WORTH IT!”

War 2 marks the return of Hrithik’s celebrated character in a darker, more intense avatar. The first film became the highest-grossing release of 2019, cementing Kabir Dhaliwal as a fan-favourite. With Mukerji at the helm and a fresh ensemble cast, War 2 is expected to raise the stakes higher than ever before.
