On the occasion of Ranveer Singh’s 40th birthday, the makers of his upcoming film Dhurandhar unveiled the much-anticipated first-look video. While the intense visuals from the teaser garnered significant buzz, an unexpected wave of speculation has now emerged online—this time, concerning the female lead of Ranveer’s next big project, Don 3. Netizens are now wondering if Kriti Sanon is set to join the franchise.

It all began when Kriti Sanon shared a heartfelt birthday post for Ranveer on her social media handle. She posted a photo of the two together, writing, “Happiest Birthday @ranveersingh!! Your energy, your hard work, your crazy talent and the love you keep spreading has always inspired me!! Shine on, rockstar.” What truly caught fans’ attention, however, was her closing remark: “P.S. looking forward to working with you soon!”
The cryptic message led to instant speculation that Kriti might be the female lead in Don 3, especially in light of recent casting changes. While Kiara Advani had been earlier confirmed as the female lead, reports suggest that she stepped away from the project due to her first pregnancy with husband Sidharth Malhotra.
That said, it’s worth noting that Bollywood Hungama had previously reported that Sharvari Wagh was finalised as Kiara’s replacement. Back in April, a well-placed industry source revealed, “Sharvari and one more actress were being considered. But she has managed to bag the role. The team at Excel Entertainment is excited to have her on board. Sharvari, too, is quite thrilled to be part of such a huge franchise, especially since it’s a departure from Alpha, though both are sleek action films.”
Interestingly, the buzz around Kriti’s potential involvement in Don 3 began just a day after a source close to the production told journalist Subhash K. Jha, “Yes, there’s been a delay — but it couldn’t be helped. Ranveer Singh, who replaced Shah Rukh Khan in the franchise, had to deal with a wave of online trolling for ‘daring’ to step into SRK’s shoes. Farhan and Ranveer mutually decided to lie low and let the heat die down. Ranveer also needed time to physically and mentally prepare for the role, which requires rigorous martial arts training.”
While there’s been no official confirmation from the makers regarding Kriti Sanon’s involvement, her social media hint has certainly set the rumour mill in motion. Fans will now be keeping a close watch for further updates from the Don 3 team.
