Three fans were injured on Saturday night after a serious accident during a race at Senoia Raceway in Georgia. The race was underway when a car lost control and crashed through the fence, hitting several people in the bleachers.
A video posted on social media shows the race car climbing the wall while turning, breaking through the fence, and hitting people sitting in the stands. The car then bounced off the bleachers and rolled back onto the track. One video was shared by Recoil Racing Videos on Facebook, while another short clip was posted on TikTok by a user named Ft.Vill.
INJURED FANS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
Senoia Raceway released a statement confirming the accident and said that emergency workers quickly responded to the scene.
“During tonight’s event at Senoia Raceway, an on-track incident occurred that resulted in injuries to three spectators. Emergency personnel responded immediately, and the individuals involved were transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. We have been informed that all parties are alert and receiving care.”
According to the raceway, information regarding the severity of the injuries is still being gathered.
“Out of respect for the individuals and their families, we are keeping further information private until more is known. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this incident. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as they become available. We extend our heartfelt support to the individuals and their loved ones during this time.”
Officials have not stated if the safety regulations will be changed.
