Munawar Faruqui is the winner of the seventeenth season of Bigg Boss, where he was even termed as a playboy. Recently, on Farah Khan’s vlog, Munawar revealed details of his secret wedding.
Munawar Faruqui revealed he decided to get married to Mehzabeen within five months
Munawar appeared on Farah Khan’s cooking vlog on her YouTube channel. When Farah asked Munawar whether he knew Mehzabeen while he was inside the BB house, the comedian responded with a big ‘no’. She was shocked to learn that he got married to someone within five months.
Munawar revealed he got married to Mehzabeen only for his 7-year-old son, Mikael
Opening on what made him decide to get married, Munawar shared that after he came out of the reality show, he was busy working on several projects. On the other hand, his son was living with his sister. There came a time when he was with him for a week, and when he was about to leave, Mikael kept hugging him. Talking about the moment, he said:
“When I came out of Bigg Boss, I was working a lot. Mikael was living with my sister then. He was with me for a week and we spent a lot of time together and when he was leaving, I felt like I don’t want him to go. I felt that he needs me. He kept hugging me the whole time.”
Munawar further added that when his son was leaving, he felt that he needed him and vice versa. The comedian added that it was the moment he thought of getting married, to keep his son with him. He was quoted as saying:
“When he was leaving, I felt like he needs me and more than him, I think I need him. In that moment, I thought what is it that I should do so I can make him stay with me. For him, I took that decision.”
Munawar added that Mehzabeen also have a 10-year-old daughter. They fit like missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Recalling his proposal, Munawar said that the next day, he asked Mehzabeen if she was okay marrying him.

Munawar and Mehzabeen have tried their best to keep their relationship away from the media glares. In fact, Munawar got married to Mehzabeen in a private ceremony in May 2024. The couple wanted to keep the wedding out of the public eye, which is one of the major reasons there are no public photographs. Their nikah ceremony was held at the ITC Grand Central Hotel in Mumbai. While Munawar is a renowned name in the entertainment world, Mehzabeen avoids being photographed with him in public.
