Julian McMahon, known for his roles on the popular shows “Nip/Tuck” and “Charmed,” has died following a private battle with cancer. He was 56.

His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed his death on Friday, telling Deadline that the actor passed “peacefully” in Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday after a “valiant effort to overcome” his illness.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,” Kelly shared, before asking fans to “allow [their] family to grieve in privacy.”
