Nikita reportedly is the first and only lady to win a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet and has made her name worldwide in the poker world. She drew parallels between the game and the reality show and shared that:
“It must have been quite evident in my approach to the game that I’m always an observer first. Silence is underrated — it tells you more than noise ever will. But when I’m sure someone’s lying, I don’t back down. I may not be the loudest, but I speak with intent. My strategy was to stay adaptable and act when it mattered.”
Nikita Luther admits to playing her game in The Traitors observantly
Nikita also revealed that Poker is essentially a long game of navigating uncertainty. It’s about reading silence, watching patterns, and knowing when to trust the gut. She in the interview also mentioned that the training of the game brings in calmness, stillness in the chaos. She shared that inside the show, the stakes were different, but the need to stay grounded in your perception felt familiar. She revealed that her approach to playing the game was by becoming an observer. Nikita noted that silence was always underrated, as it spoke more than noise would ever do. Her strategy was to always be adaptable. In her words:
“On The Traitors, it felt like an extension of that world — alliances instead of hands, suspicion instead of bluffs. In poker, people don’t always lie with words. They lie with breath patterns, hesitation, or too much eye contact. I’ve spent years learning to decode that. On The Traitors, I watched what people weren’t saying. Sometimes it wasn’t the person pointing fingers, but the one staying too quiet after a name was dropped. Bluff detection is about noticing small shifts in behaviour.”
