Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films. The movie, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, is being made as a two-part saga. The film was first planned as a trilogy, but later it was streamlined to two parts, with the first part releasing on Diwali 2026, and the second part a year after that. The shooting of part 1 is already wrapped, while the shooting for the second part is underway. The post-production work is reportedly set to begin in July 2025, and the first glimpse is expected to be released on July 3, 2025.

First review of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is out: A 7-minute-long vision showreel leaves a critic awestruck

Earlier than that, film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh got an opportunity to get an exclusive preview of a 7-minute-long vision showreel of Ranbir Kapoor’s movie, Ramayana. Taking to his X (Twitter), he released the early review. Sharing a glimpse, Taran stated that the vision of the timeless saga can leave people awestruck. Taran further added that it’s going to be a blockbuster, and a movie not just for today, but it will be remembered by generations to come. Taran shared that a box-office hurricane is loading, which means even the first glimpse of the movie can ensure that it will bring a fiery result at the box office. Taran’s review of Ramayana’s vision showreel reads:

“#JaiShriRam… Just watched the first glimpse and a 7-minute vision showreel of the most-awaited epic – #Ramayana. This glimpse of the timeless saga leaves you awestruck… Strong feeling: #Ramayana is not just a film for today, but for generations to come… #Boxoffice hurricane loading! Kudos to the visionary producer #NamitMalhotra for backing this monumental project.”

Netizens have mixed reactions to Ramayana’s review

Netizens were even more excited for the film after the first review came out. One thing which left people wowed was the fact that Taran Adarsh tagged the German film score composer and music producer, Hans Zimmer, along with the cast and makers. Well, while some of the cinelovers had positive responses, others started questioning if the movie will be really a treat or it will end up creating a blunder like Adipurush.

For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of ‘Ram’, while Sai Pallavi will be seen as ‘Sita’, making Yash ‘Ravana’. The movie has been gaining momentum since last year, with mixed reactions to the excitement surrounding epic’s release and questions about Ranbir’s portrayal of ‘Ram’. Well, we will have to wait a little longer to witness whether Ramayana will be able to blow our minds away or it will disappoint.

Ramayana budget and the massive salary of the star cast

If the reports are to be believed, Ramayana: Part 1 is made on a budget of Rs. 835 crore, which makes it one of the costliest movies to date. Reportedly. The Ayodhya set itself has a cost of Rs. 11 crore, while 600 days will be needed for the project to entail the post-production work. Ranbir Kapoor reportedly will be paid a hefty amount of Rs. 75 crore for each part, while Yash’s salary is reportedly Rs. 50 crore for each part.
