Amid all the rumours about Diljit Dosanjh being dropped from Border 2, the star has finally put an end to all those assumptions by sharing a behind-the-scenes clip from the film. He posted the clip on his Instagram handle, which instantly went viral and it worked as a reassurance for fans who want to see him in that film. In the clip, Diljit is seen wearing an army uniform and is confidently walking on the set, with a large group of background dancers with him adding a different energy in the video. He posted the video with a song from the original Border film, Sandese Aate Hai.
Diljit captioned the video as ‘Border 2’ and the fans flooded the comment section with love and relief. The entire clip shared by him in full costume and on a large-scale set was enough to shut down all sorts of rumours and controversies against him. Fans in the comment section were like, “The haters got roasted.” Apart from shutting down rumours, this video also brought a lot of excitement among fans and now they just can’t wait to see it in theatres.

Diljit Dosanjh landed in a major controversy after the trailer of his film, Sardaar Ji 3 was released, featuring Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir. The trailer received backlash as it dropped after the Pahalgam attack and people had not recovered from it. Many viewers criticised Diljit for working with a Pakistani actress at such a sensitive time. Diljit was called insensitive and hashtags asking for a boycott of the film trended on social media platforms. While neither Diljit nor Hania said anything, the internet remained strong with their opinions. Despite so much hate, the film’s release went as planned. During this controversy, came in between the assumptions that Diljit Dosanjh has been dropped from his upcoming film, Border 2.

Amid the controversy regarding Hania Aamir, reports started coming that Diljit Dosanjh was dropped from Border 2 because of the intense backlash. Amid all the anger and reports, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote a letter to Sunny Deol asking him to disassociate from any project which involves Pakistani artists. Even though it didn’t mention Diljit’s name, it was clear that the letter was directed towards him. This further escalated the rumours around Diljit’s removal. But after days of assumptions, Diljit ended all of it.

Border 2 is a much awaited sequel to the 1997 film, Border. The film promises to continue the legacy of patriotic storytelling with a strong cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. The film currently is in its shooting stage and will reportedly release in 2026.
