Delhi University has opened a mid-entry window for its postgraduate programmes, giving students who missed the initial application deadline another opportunity to register. This special phase began on July 2 and will remain open until 4:59 pm on July 4.
The mid-entry option is designed for candidates who could not apply earlier for any reason. Applicants must pay an additional fee to avail themselves of this facility. Notably, students who had registered earlier but failed to submit their course and college preferences will also be permitted to participate during this window.
An official from DU shared that the second round of postgraduate admissions saw increased participation compared to the first. Out of the 9,434 admission offers made in the second round, 5,632 students confirmed their admission. Amongst them, 2,186 candidates opted to freeze their seats.
DU clarified that this mid-entry option is a one-time provision and will not be available after the deadline. The university will release the third seat allocation list on July 8, and selected candidates will have to accept their seats by July 10.
This special admission window is applicable across all postgraduate programmes, including supernumerary categories such as sports, ECA (extracurricular activities), CW (Children/Widows of Armed Forces Personnel), and Kashmiri Migrants. DU had initially opened admissions for around 13,500 PG seats, with 7,586 candidates receiving seat allotments in the first round, and about 76% of them accepting the offers.
