Abhishek Bachchan is the son of the legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan and his darling wife, Jaya Bachchan. Being the son of a superstar, a lot was expected from Abhishek, but people forget that he is just another star living in the showbiz world, and he does not have complete control over every film being a superhit. However, he entered the film industry with a bang, as his debut film, Refugee, was a huge success. However, after a couple of flop films, Abhishek felt media and audience shifting their love, and being ignored by them.

Abhishek Bachchan revealed details of being ignored at public events and press conferences

Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Abhishek revealed that after a couple of flops, he received a lot of criticism and people started ignoring him. He added that as an actor a person is scared of going unrecognised, but it definitely helped him work on his craft. He said:

“Actors are very fragile people. We put on this exterior, but actually, on the inside, we’re like scared children. You’re looking for validation. You’re scared of going unrecognised when you go out somewhere. I genuinely hope for any actor that they get to experience both. That’s when you learn to value each of them.”

Abhishek further added that he has been in rooms where nobody even turned and looked at him. Not only this, he had walked into the hotel lobby, where it didn’t make any difference. No one would ask for his autograph. He said:

“I’ve walked into rooms where nobody even turns and looks at you. I’ve walked into a hotel lobby, and it didn’t make a difference. I expected it to make a difference because I’m a film star…You walk into a hotel lobby and you expect someone will come for an autograph, and then, nobody comes. You swallow that, and you keep going.”

However, Abhishek got his shining moment when his film, Dhoom, was loved by all, and people praised him for his acting in the film. Recalling the moment of seeing the lobby come to a standstill, the actor said:

“A couple of months later, Dhoom comes out, and you walk into the Marriott, and the lobby comes to a standstill. You only value that because you’ve been on the other end. And because you’ve been on the other end, you never want to go back there, so you work even harder… I say this often: The foundation stone of success is laid on the ground of failure.”
