Shah Rukh Khan has shown his sincere support for longtime friend and seasoned actor Anupam Kher ahead of the release of his upcoming film Tanvi The Great. On Sunday, SRK shared the film’s trailer on X (formerly Twitter) and commended Anupam for consistently making courageous and creative choices in his career.

Anupam Kher’s directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, tells a profoundly emotional story about a young girl with autism who aspires to join the Indian Army. The trailer has resonated strongly with audiences online, earning support from numerous Bollywood celebrities.
Anil Kapoor also took to Twitter to commend the film, stating, “Some stories stay with you long after the screen fades to black… #TanviTheGreat is one of them. Watch the trailer now – it’s powerful, heartfelt, and deeply inspiring. All my prayers and luck for the success of this labour of love from @AnupamPKher.”
Kher, clearly touched by the kind words, replied warmly, “Thank you mere pyaare dost @AnilKapoor for your love and truthful appreciation. You are a great support system. Most of the time as a friend! And sometimes as a guide too!”
At the trailer launch, Kher revealed that the story drew inspiration from a personal experience with his autistic niece, Tanvi. Reflecting on the moment, he said, “Four years ago, at a family wedding in Gurgaon, I asked Tanvi (his cousin) what she was looking at. She said, ‘I am looking at my world.’ That line shook me. I didn’t understand what her world was — and that became the germ of this film.”
The film features debutante Shubhangi in the lead role, with Jackie Shroff, Pallavi Joshi, Arvind Swami, and Karan Tacker also starring. The music is composed by Oscar-winning M.M. Keeravani.
Tanvi The Great is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 18 and aims to be an inspiring tale of dreams, determination, and inclusion.
