Anshula Kapoor, an entrepreneur, was recently evicted from Karan Johar’s hosted show ‘The Traitors’. Despite being a fan favourite, she was voted out by her fellow contestants who believed she was the traitor. Kapoor, however, was found to be innocent. Her journey on the show was marked by emotional challenges and personal revelations.

During her time on “The Traitors,” Anshula Kapoor experienced significant emotional distress, revealing that the show triggered her PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). In an exclusive interaction with News18 Showsha, Kapoor also spoke about one task involved navigating through a scene reminiscent of mourning rituals, which brought back memories of her mother’s death.

“For me, it was the last mission that triggered it. I have a personal history with death. Kudos to the team, honestly, with the way they did that mission. It was very realistic. The entire experience was too spooky. I literally went back to my mother’s death, the day that she passed away. Some of the rituals were similar,” she explained.

The environment of the show posed additional challenges for Kapoor’s mental health. She described how being in a “captive environment” contributed to heightened emotions and self-doubt. “When you are in a captive environment like we were, you are highly pressurised. Our emotions were running high. You are also constantly second-guessing yourself,” she noted. These conditions made her more susceptible to emotional triggers.

‘The Traitors’ premiered on Prime Video on 12 June and has released episodes weekly. The show, which started with 20 contestants, features personalities such as Karan Kundrra, Jasmin Bhasin, and Raftaar, among others. The grand finale is scheduled for release on 3 July, and anticipation is high as the show has already been renewed for a second season.
