Willy Chavarria’s latest Adidas collaboration and new Charles Jourdan tie-up weren’t the only shoe partnerships to hit the designer’s Paris runway on Friday.
The designer also previewed a new partnership with Portuguese footwear brand Mariano Shoes at his spring/summer 2026 show. The collaborative slip-on patent leather loafer style was seen in hues of white, green and red and “offer a sculptural, minimalist contrast to the collection’s vivid palette,” the designer noted.
The collaboration between the two labels was brought to life with the help of APICCAPS, the Portuguese footwear association.
“Their commitment to craftsmanship and heritage aligns seamlessly with our design values,” said Chavarria said in a statement.
Paulo Goncalves, communications director at APICCAPS, added that the collaboration is part of its plan to boost the presence of Portuguese footwear in the U.S.
“Portugal offers unmatched craftsmanship and expertise in producing premium footwear, while Willy Chavarria brings raw talent and a fresh, contemporary vision,” Goncalves said. “Together, we form a powerful and promising partnership.”

Chavarria’s new collab with Mariano Shoes debuted alongside the designer’s third installment of his tie-up with Adidas Originals. For spring/summer 2026, Adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria introduces a completely new running model with the Megaride AG and Megaride AG XL as well as the Chavarria Superstar.
But these weren’t the only shoe collaborations this season. Chavarria also announced a new Charles Jourdan women’s and men’s collaboration on Friday.
According to the designer, the collection draws on rare pieces from the Charles Jourdan archives, including styles held by private collectors and museums. The silhouettes have been recolored and reworked with fresh materials to reflect Chavarria’s design language.
As for Mariano Shoes and APICCAPS, this isn’t the first time the label teamed up with an American company. In September, the Portuguese showcased a collaboration with designer and 2024 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist Presley Oldham. The collection, which debuted at Oldham’s spring/summer 2025 presentation at New York Fashion Week, includes styles for both men and women.
These collaborations come as the Portuguese footwear industry doubles down on its efforts to become a strong alternative to Italian shoe production. Last June, APICCAPS announced that the country’s shoe industry is investing 600 million euros between now and 2030 to better position Portugal as a relevant player in the luxury footwear sector.
