Vishnu Manchu’s dream project, Kannappa, was released in the theatres on June 27, 2025. The mythological drama features several top actors from across the country, including Prabhas from Tollywood, Mohanlal from Mollywood, and Akshay Kumar from Bollywood. However, it seems the film missed a beat for the audience, and now Vishnu has come forward to react to the same.

Mukesh Kumar Singh’s Kannappa opened at the cinema to mixed reviews from the audience. While Prabhas and the second half of the film garnered immense praise from viewers for his impeccable performance, certain elements of the film were not well received by them. This included the VFX used in certain scenes in the film. However, as the audience continues to decide their stance on Kannappa, it is the lead of the multi-starrer, Vishnu Manchu, who came forward to address some of the points made by the audience.

It was on the evening of June 29, 2025, when Vishnu Manchu attended a press event and addressed the criticism of the shoddy visual effects. The actor attended an event in Hyderabad, where he claimed that the team had already sacrificed good scenes in the film due to shoddy VFX. During the press conference, Vishnu revealed that he, the director, and the editor of the film, Anthony, had removed certain scenes from the film because the VFX did not meet their expectations. He was quoted as saying:

“The editor, director, and I sacrificed some excellent scenes in the film because the VFX was not on the level we expected it to be.”

In the same conversation, Vishnu Manchu revealed that the criticism was a good lesson for him. He acknowledged the situation and claimed that he won’t repeat the same mistake again. However, he also admitted that several viewers didn’t realise it, and the team was happy that nobody cared. He was quoted as saying:

“It’s a massive lesson for me, though. It’s such a lesson that I’ll never repeat that mistake again. But a lot of people watching the film didn’t even realise it. The team was happy that no one cared about it.”

    More about Kannappa

Vishnu Manchu has referred to Kannappa as his dream project for ages, as the first time the actor spoke about the project was almost a decade ago. The film, Kannappa is produced by Vishnu’s father, actor Mohan Babu, and is mounted on a massive scale, featuring a large star cast. Apart from Vishnu Manchu, the cast includes Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Preity Zinta, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Siva Balaji, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Raghu Babu, and Madhoo. The film registered the highest opening for any Vishnu film, and despite a slight dip on June 28, 2025, it has maintained a steady presence at the box office.
