Indrakumar Tiwari’s biggest dream became his worst nightmare after his own wife killed him over his property. The 45-year-old man hailed from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He shared details of his 18-acre land and unmarried status with Aniruddhacharya Maharaj. However, little did he know, his innocent revelation would capture the attention of a scammer.
Indrakumar Tiwari expressed his frustration over not being able to get married
According to a report by NDTV, Indrakumar Tiwari was a part-time teacher and farmer from Padwar (Khitola) in Jabalpur district. The man had spoken publicly about his 18-acre land, expressing his frustration over not finding a bride and sharing that he had no one to look after his farmland. However, little did Indrakumar know that his announcement would also catch the attention of a scammer who would pose as a potential match and plan a horrifying act.
Indrakumar Tiwari was murdered two hours after getting married
The online world is equally scary as it is helpful, as shortly after Indrakumar Tiwari announced his land and marital status, the video of the same from Aniruddhacharya Maharaj’s event caught the attention of some fraudsters. He soon went missing, only to be found in the bushes alongside National Highway 28 in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district, with a knife lodged in his neck. According to NDTV, the man was murdered by a woman named Sahiba Bano, who posed as ‘Khushi Tiwari’ and reached out to Indrakumar via social media with a marriage proposal.
Kushinagar Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar revealed that Sahiba forged an Aadhaar card to fake her identity and persuaded Indrakumar to travel to Gorakhpur. She contacted him, and once he agreed to marry her, they set their heinous plan in motion. According to India Today, in Gorakhpur, Sahiba, with the help of two accomplices, staged a fake wedding and murdered Indrakumar just two hours later. She took the jewellery Indrakumar had brought with him and dumped his body in a drain. Kushinagar SP Santosh Kumar, was quoted as saying:
“The man reached Gorakhpur, and the two got married. His body was found days later. It is suspected that the woman and her associates killed him and escaped with some jewellery and cash that he was carrying.”

Sahiba Bano was arrested, and the investigation is still underway
Indrakumar Tiwari’s body was later discovered in the Sukarouli area under Hata Kotwali in Kushinagar. The police reported that the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh police have been coordinating on the matter. Sahiba and two of her accomplices were arrested by the police. One of them has been identified as Kushal, who had also been involved in a staged marriage crime earlier. According to the reports, Sahiba had planned to use the fake marriage photos to claim Indrakumar’s land by posing to be his widow.
“Sahiba has been arrested. She had also made a fake Aadhaar card. Efforts are on to nab the remaining accused. A detailed probe is underway.”
