Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are saying “I do” in Venice, Italy on Friday — but the real party will be Saturday night, a source tells Page Six, complete with a performance by DJ Cassidy.
Cassidy is known for playing high-profile events: He appeared at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 2008 wedding, and also played the “Halo” singer’s birthday, as well as Elton John’s Oscar party, both of President Barack Obama’s inaugurations, the 2024 Democratic National Convention and more.
We hear the celebrity favorite DJ will spin tunes at the power couple’s grand celebration — set to take place in the historic Arsenale area in front of guests including Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tom Brady, Bill Gates, Diane Von Furstenberg, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and many more.
He has also played gigs for Naomi Campbell, President Biden, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Lopez. His “Pass the Mic Live” tour was even turned into a BET special.
There have also been rumors that “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” rock icon Sir Elton and Lady Gaga could perform at one of Bezos and Sanchez’s events over their three days of festivities.
Friday night’s wedding event at San Giorgio Maggiore island is said to be featuring a performance by Matteo Bocelli, the son of famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
On Friday, Page Six spotted staffers checking in for their accreditations to get through police barriers on the island.
But Bezos and Sánchez have been keeping their big day shrouded in mystery. Page Six exclusively learned this week that VIP guests have been kept in the dark about the events surrounding the couple’s nuptials.
“The guests don’t know the locations,” a source told us. “They were given times and no details. They just get taken there.”
On Thursday, the Amazon billionaire, 61, and former journalist, 55, hosted a welcome party at Madonna dell’Orto church for guests including Orlando Bloom, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Ivanka Trump.
Bezos and Sánchez’s celebrity guests got caught in a torrential downpour when a thunderstorm brought an early end to the couple’s welcome party, we reported.
Police presence was heavy in the area with cops shutting down streets near the church.
“There were cops on jet skis, police on bridges,” said a spy. “They were also guarding all the side streets nearby and not allowing gawkers to stand and watch the celebrity’s water taxis go by. One bridge located right by church is blocked and paparazzi are all trying to get their shot across the water.”
Sánchez and Bezos already legally tied the knot in the US.
