When John Cena and Idris Elba share the screen, sparks tend to fly — and their dynamic from The Suicide Squad (2021) has led to a new collaboration in Prime Video’s Heads of State. This time, they take on the roles of world leaders: Cena plays U.S. President Will Deringer, while Elba steps in as British Prime Minister Sam Clarke. Joining them is Priyanka Chopra Jonas as MI6 agent Noel Bisset, adding sharp wit and intensity to the mix. With a blend of action, humour, and political intrigue, the film promises an entertaining ride led by a strong trio.

Reflecting on her time working alongside Cena and Elba, Priyanka shared, “Oh, it was amazing. I didn’t feel left out at all. It didn’t feel like… It wasn’t like it was high school. They wanted to work together when they did Suicide Squad, and that’s where the inception of the movie came about. And Peter Safran (Producer) was like, we’ve got to bottle and sell this. So I’m just really happy to be on the ride with them and be the only girl in this, like, really masculine energy. I had a great time.”
Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film also stars Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid and Sarah Niles rounding out the star-studded ensemble cast. The high-stakes action comedy, packed with political twists and comedic turns, premieres July 2 exclusively on Prime Video in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
