It has been 10 years since Helen Owen and Zack Kalter first met in Mexico and crossed paths when they were both filming for a TV commercial in 2015. The couple recently said ‘I Do’ to one another in June 2025 and had a dreamy wedding in Provence, France. The content creators are the founders of the photo app, Phlow, and according to a report by Vogue France, their American friends came to celebrate a few days before their dating anniversary. Helen and Zack’s wedding celebrations started at the architectural beauty of the French region- Carrières de Lumières, and then at the Château d’Estoublon.
For the unversed, Helen was born on December 8, 1992, in Bristol, England and then went to San Francisco, where she studied Design Media at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles. Helen’s presence on social media began from the time she was in high school, and then she took modelling as a full-time career. Helen’s husband, Zack, is a reality TV personality who has been known for appearing in The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. The couple is happily married now, but here is a look at their love story.

According to a report by Vogue France, Helen and Zack met in 2015 back in Cabo, Mexico. They both had agreed by chance to shoot for a national TV commercial for a solar panel backpack company. It was the first and only TV commercial that they ever shot, and those four days of shooting ended up being one of the biggest adventures of their lives. Helen shared that after meeting Zack, they used to go for mountain biking on the beach, ziplining in the jungle, and a sunset cruise that ended with them jumping in the ocean. In her words:
“The attraction was immediate, and the flirting continued in Los Angeles, where we discovered we only lived 15 minutes apart. At the time, I was a senior at UCLA, and I remember texting Zack during my French class asking if we could hang out. He took me out on a sushi date, and that’s how it all began.”

It took Helen and Zack four months to realise that both of them were attracted towards one another as they started creating unforgettable moments in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Coachella and also used to have spontaneous weekends in Miami. Helen had noted that she and Zack had this wild love for travel, adventure and for clicking moments, and she is eternally grateful to Cabo, where the spark between the two rose.
Zack Kalter proposed to Helen Owen during a work trip to Switzerland
Helen and Zack, for seven years, travelled extensively for work during their dating phase. Helen shared in the interview how Zack always had plenty of opportunities to propose as they visited proposal-worthy locales. However, it was in 2023 when a work trip to Switzerland made Zack realise that he had to propose to Helen. He did not plan the same and was impromptu, which left Helen surprised. He was carrying the proposal ring in his bag for two months, and when they were in London, he showed the same to Helen’s sister. It was their second winter in Switzerland, and Helen took her friend who was nursing a heartbreak.
Zack wanted things to be a little intimate, and they extended their stay at The Chedi Hotel in a small Swiss village called Andermatt. Helen felt close to Zack, and on the last day, he told her that the hotel manager wanted to show them some suites, so she wore a sweater dress. He wanted her to look dressier, so she wore something that had already been worn earlier and shared:
“We met the manager and he began showing us around. We went up to the top floor, and he told us we were going to see one of the most exceptional suites. I followed him, and discovered a magnificent, spacious suite filled with candles, flowers, and a long table set for two. The manager slipped away, and we were alone… and even then, I didn’t understand what was going on until Zack took the ring out of his pocket. I was amazed that he had managed to hide the ring for all that time! It was intimate, and he managed to pull off a complete surprise.”
