However, after a messy divorce, the businessman married Priya Sachdev, who had a daughter from her previous marriage. The couple then welcomed a baby boy. An older video of the late Sunjay’s wife, Priya, has surfaced, where she talked about his previous marriage and her bond with her step-children.
Priya Sachdev said that Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s marriage was ‘not conventional’
Priya Sachdev, in an interview with Kin and Kindness, opened up about her marriage to Sunjay Kapur. She revealed that before the divorce from Karisma Kapoor, Sunjay would frequently travel from Delhi to Mumbai. This was because his business was based in Delhi, while Karisma and their two kids lived in Mumbai. It was also during a flight that Priya had met the businessman. However, they were only friends, which blossomed into more only after his divorce from the actress.
Priya Sachdev had also stated that Sunjay and Karisma did not have a conventional marriage. He also had two children from that marriage, Samaira and Kiaan, whom Priya called ‘beautiful’. She said that the couple loved them a lot and that they are a ‘beautiful blended family’. In the interview, she said:
“Sunjay’s previous marriage was not a conventional marriage. He had two beautiful children from that marriage. We love them dearly and today we are one beautiful blended family.”

Priya Sachdev was previously married to Vikram Chatwal and had a daughter named Safira. After marrying Sunjay, the mother and daughter moved into his house. Priya said that those initial days were difficult for them. However, she encouraged the businessman to talk directly to his stepdaughter and build a bond with her. She proudly stated that Sunjay and her daughter had become very close. Talking about those days, Priya said:
“It wasn’t easy because he would tell me that these are the rules of my house and Safira should follow them, and I asked him to talk to her directly and build their own relationship, which they did. They have a beautiful relationship now and are very close.”

Priya Sachdev won hearts when she said that she and her husband have four children. She called Samaira (Karisma’s daughter) the oldest child, Safira (Priya’s daughter) second, then Kiaan (Karisma’s son) and at last Azarias, her and Sunjay’s baby boy. Priya also revealed that the businessman and her youngest son, Azarias was the glue that held their blended family together. Their baby boy is a half-brother to both Priya’s and Sunjay’s children from their previous marriage. As a result, the step-siblings also came close to each other. Priya revealed that Samaira and Safira are very close to each other. She said in the interview:
“We have four children — Samaira, the oldest, then Safira, Kiaan, and my and Sunjay’s son, Azarias. It’s a blended family.” Speaking about her relationship with Karisma’s children, Priya shared, “When my son Azarias was born, he was the glue. He brought the family together because he is half them and half Safira. Our two daughters are very close — Samaira and Safira. We all have grown to love and appreciate each other.”

Priya Sachdev had opened up more about her bond with Samaira and Kiaan and said that she could never replace their mother, Karisma. However, she knew that there was a place in their world and their hearts for her as well. Priya also mentioned that she talked about all sorts of things with Samaira and Kiaan and that she has a bond with them. She said about her step-children:
“I can never be their mother but I know I have a space in their world and their hearts. We talk about all sort of fun, frivolous, and serious stuff. I have a bond with them.”
