Daniel Park, a 32-year-old Washington state man charged in connection with a deadly bombing at a California fertility clinic, has passed away in federal custody, the Federal Bureau of Prisons announced Tuesday.

Park was found unresponsive Tuesday morning at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Staff attempted life-saving measures before he was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The FBI and US Marshals Service have been notified, but no cause or manner of death has been released.

Park was arrested in June for his alleged role in the May 17 bombing of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs that left one person dead, believed to be the primary suspect, Guy Bartkus, and injured several others. Authorities say Park supplied Bartkus with 270 pounds of ammonium nitrate and shared his extremist beliefs.

Federal authorities allege Daniel Park shipped 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate to Guy Edward Bartkus, 25, who carried out the clinic bombing and died in the blast. T

The compound is a known explosive precursor. Officials also say Park visited Bartkus for two weeks in late January and February, during which they allegedly conducted bomb-making experiments.

Though Park was not in California at the time of the bombing, he was later detained in Poland and extradited to the US. He arrived at the Los Angeles detention center on June 13 and was awaiting trial on charges of malicious destruction of property.
