We will not submit to anyone’s harassment, says Khamenei after strikes on US bases

After Iran’s missile attacks on US bases in Qatar and Iraq, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a statement defending the strikes on US bases.

He posted an image of a burning American flag on a pole, set against a backdrop of a war-torn area with burning buildings and a dark, smoky sky, along with the caption: “We didn’t harm anyone. And we will not accept any harassment from anyone under any circumstances. And we will not submit to anyone’s harassment. This is the logic of the Iranian nation.”

This comes as Iran launched missiles toward US military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday following American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend. Iran struck under ‘Operation Besharat Fatah,’ declaring the attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar as part of a campaign against what Tehran called “blatant military aggression” by the US. Rockets were also fired at the Ain Al Asad base, which houses US troops in Iraq.

The US maintains about 10,000 troops at Al Udeid Air Base, located outside Doha. It is the largest American military installation in the Middle East and serves as a critical hub for operations across the region
