In the video posted on Instagram, Sonam Kapoor is seen sitting casually in a salon chair, flashing a confident grin as she gears up for a bold move. “Hi everyone, so I decided to cut 12 inches of my hair,” she announces, holding up the freshly snipped strands. “It doesn’t seem like much on video, but it’s literally a foot of hair!” she adds, beaming with pride over the meaningful donation.
Of course, Sonam Kapoor couldn’t resist giving a playful nod to her father, veteran actor Anil Kapoor, for her enviable locks. “My hair’s become really long because of my genetics… i.e. Anil Kapoor,” she laughed, adding a personal and light-hearted touch to the touching moment.
Sonam Kapoor shared that donating her hair was something she had been wanting to do for a long time, and she finally felt it was the right moment to part with some of the length for a meaningful cause. Her longtime hairstylist, Pete, took on the task, carefully snipping away the 12 inches in a moment that marked both a fresh start and a heartfelt gesture.
Even after parting with a full foot of hair, Sonam Kapoor’s tresses remained long and effortlessly glamorous.
