Recently, Rohit Sharma along with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh were seen on a candid chat with Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Barsa Singh on their YouTube podcast, Who’s The Boss. The couples spoke about a lot of things but what won millions of hearts was when the cricketer, Rohit Sharma shared his sweet proposal story. He shared that instead of choosing a fancy restaurant or a grand proposal, he chose to keep it close to his heart and proposed to her on his childhood cricket ground. He pretended to take Ritika to an ice-cream parlour and Ritika realised it was a proposal only when Rohit was on his knees. In his words:
“Ye aayi thi khana leke ghar se, humne khana khaya. Hum log baithe the aur maine isko bola ki Chal ice cream khane jaate hai, bore ho rahe hai. Toh hum nikle Marine Drive se, Haji Ali, Bandra, Dadar sab cross kar liya. Toh ye puchti hai kaha hai tera ice cream parlour. Toh maine bola jaha main rehta hu waha ek hai accha, then we reached the ground. Ground mein andhera tha, so she didn’t realise and I had already told my friend to set up something at the ground and be there to capture the moment. Then I went on my knees in the middle of the pitch and then I proposed to her.”
