Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked the PM for India’s position and call for de-escalation and said India’s voice and role were important in the restoration of regional peace and stability. “We discussed in detail about the current situation… Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability,” Modi said in a post on X.According to an Iranian readout, Pezeshkian strongly condemned the American action, saying what the world was witnessing today was a worrying and unacceptable trend, in which “a country that is pursuing peaceful nuclear activities within the framework of international regulations, especially under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, becomes the target of attack by the US and Israel”.“This action shows that all their claims about peace, democracy, human rights and commitment to international norms are nothing but slogans and deception of public opinion,” he said.
