The speculations continued to get more intense when a poster reportedly didn’t feature Hania. However, it was on June 22, 2025, when the trailer was released, which brought a twist as Hania was seen in the lead role.

For the unversed, Sardaar Ji 3 is set for an overseas release on June 27, 2025. The buzz about Hania Aamir’s presence in Diljit Dosanjh’s movie has been under the fog for a long time, and after Diljit dropped some BTS photos from the set a few days back, netizens have already speculated that the Pakistani actress would probably be a part of the movie, even after everything that happened since April 2025. And as the trailer now confirms the same, netizens remained divided. While some were happy about Hania being a part of Diljit’s film, others slammed the actor for working with her.

One user penned, “Well, they both deserve all praises for Dill and Hania, they both look stunning.” Another user commented, “Shame on Diljit.” While some users called for banning the movie, others started calling names for Diljit, such as ‘Gaddar’, ‘Anti-Indian’. Expressing anger, a third user wrote:

For the unversed, following the intensified situation between the two countries, Pakistani media, YouTube channels, and even actors’ and actresses’ social media handles were banned in India. Talking about Sardaar Ji 3′s release, amid the backlash, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) requested the Central Board of Film Certification to withhold a clarification due to the presence of the Pakistani actress in the film. After the same, some problems occurred in the release of the film, and to avoid any protest or delay, thus, it was decided that the film would be released overseas.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani actresses dropped notes, condemning the acts. However, soon after India’s response through ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Pakistani actors like Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Mawra Hocane posted some condemning notes on India, which didn’t go well with their entire Indian fanbase, who demanded their ban in Bollywood. However, with the more intense situation, the Indian authorities have decided to ban the Pakistani actors. It was Harshvardhan Rane who decided to quit the sequel of Sanam Teri Kasam if it would feature the previous cast, i.e., Mawra Hocane.
