Actor Jitin Gulati, known for his performances in popular shows like Kaala and Bambai Meri Jaan, is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming mythological horror film Maa, which stars Kajol in the lead role. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa is a significant project that marks Kajol’s debut in the horror genre.

Speaking about his decision to join the film, Jitin Gulati shared his enthusiasm and said, “I wanted to do it as soon as I heard about it from my director. I am grateful to Mr. Vishal Furia and Mr. Ajay Devgn for saying ‘yes’ to me for this part. For me, it was a no-brainer, getting to work with a superstar like Kajol and a director like Vishal, who is a master of this genre, backed by Devgan Films and Jio Studios, it was indeed a very easy ‘yes’ for me.”
Jitin is also all praise for the film as a whole. “More than just my character, I cannot wait for our audience to experience the full film,” he said. “A culturally rooted folklore coupled with cutting edge VFX, I am sure the film will connect with a wide audience across regions. Mythological horror will soon become a sub-genre as Mythology and such stories are such an intrinsic part of our culture.”
Maa is a mythological horror film that explores the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child, set against the backdrop of supernatural forces. The story focuses on a mother’s extraordinary journey to protect her child from otherworldly threats, blending elements of mythology, love, and resilience. The film is positioned as a sequel to Shaitan’s Universe, expanding the cinematic landscape introduced in earlier projects.
Produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Jio Studios, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Maa boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Gopal Singh, Suryasikha Das, Yaani Bharadwaj, Rupakatha Chakraborty, and Kherin Sharma.
With Kajol stepping into the horror space for the first time and Vishal Furia, known for his expertise in the genre, at the helm, Maa is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated films in the mythological horror segment.
