Prem Virk has made his acting debut in the upcoming multi-starrer comedy film Housefull 5, and he has credited Akshay Kumar for giving him this breakthrough opportunity. Prem shared, “Though I was in the Merchant Navy, I always had the dream of becoming an actor. When I stepped into Bollywood, my first film as an assistant director was Housefull 4.” Since his early days, Prem continued to assist in major Bollywood productions, including Housefull 4, Good Newwz, Sky Force, Khel Khel Mein, and Kesari 2, many of which featured Akshay Kumar in the lead. His consistent work caught Akshay’s attention. “Slowly and steadily, I got the opportunity to work on more than 10 films with Akshay sir as an AD. Over time, he got to know that I wanted to become an actor. He used to watch my videos and audition clips, and he liked them,” Prem added.

His acting debut happened during the shooting of Housefull 5 on a cruise. Prem recalled, “Interestingly, the person who was originally cast for that role had some issues, and because of that, I was given the part. It was Akshay sir who gave me the opportunity, wherein the director was convinced too.”

Prem admitted feeling nervous while filming his scenes, surrounded by big stars. “When I was about to shoot my scene, I was very nervous because there were so many big actors in front of me. But they made me feel extremely comfortable. Especially Akshay sir—he motivated me a lot and told me, ‘You can do it.’ Everyone liked my first scene so much that they ended up adding a few more scenes for me.”

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is the latest installment in the successful comedy franchise and stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Deshmukh along with a massive ensemble.

Prem also took a moment to thank his father, sharing, “I would want to thank my dad, my backbone, who’s not with all of us but is always pushing me to achieve what I want from up there.”

Following Housefull 5, Prem is set to appear in the Priyadarshan horror comedy Bhooth Bangla.
