The Royal Ascot is the epitome of British style. The event, which was started by Queen Anne in 1711, is a staple of the British social calendar and an opportunity for men to dress up in tails, and for the women to show off their formal dresses and their best footwear. For the 2025 Royal Ascot, metallic shoes are having a moment.
While classic beige and black shoes were also spotted on the guests’ feet, colorful slingback pumps and sandals were also on full display. But the metallic gold and silver heels appeared to be a preferred choice this year, which added a bit of an edge to the guests traditional shoe styles. From Dior’s C’est Dior heeled sandals to cap toe slingbacks, guests like Penny Lancaster, Natalie Rushdie wore the trend to celebrate the event this year.
Here, see photos of metallic shoes at the 2025 edition of Royal Ascot.
