On the personal front, Dhanush was married to superstar, Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth. However, after 18 years of marital bliss, the couple decided to part ways and announced the same to their fans, which came as a big shock to everyone. There were also rumours of his alleged linkup with Shruti Haasan, which also became one of the reasons for tension in his marriage.
Dhanush’s extramarital affair created a lot of noise in the entertainment world
Shruti Haasan is Dhanush’s wife, Aishwarya’s childhood friend and also shares a great bond with the actor. In 2011, Aishwarya decided to make her directorial debut with the romantic thriller, 3, in which she cast her husband opposite Shruti Haasan. During the making of the film, rumours started that Dhanush and Shruti are in a relationship.
As per the sources, Dhanush and Shruti’s affair rumours also created issues in the actor’s marriage with Aishwarya. It was also reported that Dhanush and Aishwarya’s marriage is on the verge of collapse and that the couple had decided to part ways.
Shruti Haasan reacted to the rumours of her affair with Dhanush
In an interview with Filmfare, Shruti Haasan spoke about the speculations regarding her affair with her friend, Aishwarya’s husband, Dhanush. The actress rubbished the same and said:
“I’m not going around justifying to people. I’m not going to tell people to put a microchip in my bum and follow me, so that they can know the truth. He is my best friend in the business. He has always helped me artistically. I won’t throw that in trash just because people are talking nonsense about us. I’ve never bothered much about what people say.”
Not only did Shruti rubbish the rumours, but she also talked about her bond with Dhanush and how he had been her guiding light when nobody believed in her. Elaborating on the same, she said:
“I know there are 10,000 rumors. For me, it’s a rare connect with someone. Dhanush is an important friend because when nobody thought I could play the part in 3, he stood by me and said I could do it. For anyone in any job, it’s important that people have faith in you. I owe him so much. Also we get along well. We have so much to talk about.”
Dhanush’s wife, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, cleared the air on his affair with Shruti Haasan
Amid the rumours, Aishwarya Rajinikanth chipped in and cleared the air. During an interaction with the media, Aishwarya clearly stated that all the things that have been said about Dhanush and Shruti in the media were completely baseless. She vehemently supported her husband and stated that the rumours pertaining to his affair held no ground.
Dhanush and Aishwarya’s divorce
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa had begun their forever journey on November 18, 2004, at Rajinikanth’s house. On October 10, 2006, they had welcomed their first son, Yatra Raja, and on June 21, 2010, they had welcomed their second son, Linga Raja and had completed their family. On January 17, 2022, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Dhanush took to their respective social media handles and announced their separation and asked to respect their privacy. In 2024, the ex-couple’s divorce was finalised.
