It was in 2003 when, in an interview with Reddif, Randhir Kapoor shared the details about the ex-couple. He stated that the wedding of Sunjay and Karisma was an arranged one, but they had met each other beforehand, and the alliance was fixed by their common friends. Randhir Kapoor said:
“We will be able to give you the date in a couple of days. The wedding is an arranged one. Both Karisma and Sunjay have known each other but the alliance has been fixed with the help of common friends.”

Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor had been together for several years, and it was in 2014 when the duo parted ways. In 2016, Karisma and Sunjay were granted a divorce. To this, the actor said that he never wanted Karisma to marry Sunjay. He further blasted Sunjay and mentioned that the Kapoors don’t need his money.
