Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp are back together on screen — this time not for a Pitch Perfect movie, but for action comedy Bride Hard.

The film — billed as a mashup of Bridesmaids and Die Hard — stars Wilson as a secret agent who is serving as the maid of honor at her childhood best friend’s (played by Camp) wedding, and must save the day when armed mercenaries crash the ceremony.

After the two actresses co-starred in three Pitch Perfect projects, Wilson told The Hollywood Reporter at the Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday that the longtime friends had been looking to work together again.

“I love Anna, I think she’s one of the world’s best actresses — she can do anything, if you’ve seen her recently in You or Hysteria!, she’s so multitalented,” Wilson explained. “This movie required a girl squad so I was like, ‘Yeah, bring in Anna Camp.’ She could play any role; she decided she wanted to be the bride and so we play besties yet again.”

Director Simon West added that when it came to casting Camp, “It was just easy because they’re friends. There’s so much else going on in the film and putting a film together, you go, ‘How can we make that relationship work the best?’ And getting somebody like Anna Camp who is already her best friend and has already worked with her and they know each other’s timing, it just makes the whole thing so obvious.”

After making a name for herself in comedy, this marks Wilson’s first foray in action, as she points to Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig as her action star inspirations. She added, “Obviously I’m not a serious action person, I’m not going to be in the John Wick franchise, but I feel like action comedy maybe there’s a few roles coming up in that space which would be really fun.”

Bride Hard, which also stars Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Justin Hartley and Sherry Cola, hits theaters on Friday.
