The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings made history in more ways than one. RCB finally won their first IPL title after 18 years of heartbreak, and the match became the most-watched T20 game ever.

In a thrilling final, RCB ended their long wait for the trophy, and fans all over the world tuned in to watch the action. The match clocked a massive 31.7 billion minutes of watch-time across both TV and digital platforms, according to JioStar, the official broadcaster and digital partner of IPL 2025.

“The incredible viewership numbers are reinforcement of our belief in the commitment to serve fans and the potential for growth of even a scaled property like the TATA IPL,” Sanjog Gupta, CEO – Sports and Live Experiences, JioStar, said.

“We would also thank BCCI and our partners, whose support is critical in our endeavor to constantly raise the bar on industry-defining experiences we offer on our platforms,” he added.

On TV, Star Sports recorded 15 billion minutes of watch-time, reaching 169 million viewers—the highest for any T20 match. On the digital side, JioHotstar saw 892 million video views, 55 million peak viewers at one time, and 16.74 billion minutes of watch-time, making it the biggest digital match in cricket history.

The final was the highlight of what was already a record-breaking season. Over 1 billion viewers watched IPL 2025 across TV and digital, and the total watch-time for the season hit 840 billion minutes, the highest ever for the league.

One big reason for the digital growth was the rise of Connected TV (CTV), which saw a 49% increase this year. JioHotstar’s digital watch-time grew by 29 percent, with 23.1 billion views and 384.6 billion minutes watched across the season.

IPL 2025 also saw some memorable moments. Apart from RCB’s title win, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century in IPL history.
