Bollywood actress, Kajol, has an evergreen fan base since the 90s. She is married to Ajay Devgan and her top movies include Baazigar (1993), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). She had made her debut with the movie, Bekhudi, in 1992. Apart from having an excellent professional career, on the personal front, Kajol is a mom to Nysa and Yug Devgan. She revealed that she has her own set of fights with her children.
Kajol shares that she has arguments with her daughter, Nysa
Kajol shared that her journey of motherhood has always been about learning. She feels lost at times, and the fact that she is patient surprises her. Kajol shares of keeping opinions on the table and changing what she thought one had to debate with her to convince her that the opinion of the other person was correct. Kajol shared how she has a fight with her kids at the dinner table and shared:
“So many times there have been instances where, you know, sometimes I look back and especially when it comes to food. Let me tell you, most of the fights between me and my kids have happened at the dining table. So yes, at the dining table, there have been so many arguments. But at one point, I realised, Nysa looked at me and said, ‘Mom, just relax. I know what I’m doing, and I’ll eat when I’m hungry.”
Kajol feels that she is a good mom and not arrogant about the same
Going ahead in the interview, the actress shared that her kids often make her realise in one to two lines that what she says at times could be wrong, which is a surprise to her. The actress does feel that she was stunned to know that, in reality, she could learn a lot from her kids. She noted:
“It suddenly shook me. I turned around and realised that those parts of me surprised me, the fact that I could learn from just that. I’m used to it now, but the part of me that turned around and learned from my children, in small, small ways, that part stayed with me. I don’t believe I’m being arrogant when I say I’m a good mother. But yes, to be a better person, sometimes I have become a better person because my children have taught me how to be better.”
Kajol shares that she stays calm as she knows her daughter, Nysa, is independent
Kajol, going ahead, shared her thoughts and expressed that initially she used to worry a lot if her daughter ate or not. Nysa lived in a boarding school, went to London, where she is doing good. Kajol feels her daughter is happy, thriving, so clearly she has made the best choice. As a mother, Kajol has learnt to stay calm and not worry if Nysa ate or not. This is because she has learnt the trick to stay calm from her young daughter, who knows what her mom worries about. Kajol said:
“She must be eating when she’s hungry, or whatever. So I needed to calm down about it, you know? And as an adult, she will have to learn, and she will somewhere, somehow. So that’s that. I’ve learned a lot at the dining table. A lot.”
