Censor board suggests five changes in Sitaare Zameen Par
As per a new report by Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board Of Film Certification’s (CBFC) Revising Committee has suggested five minor changes in Aamir Khan’s upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. It has asked makers to replace the word ‘Businesswoman’ with ‘Business person’ reportedly to keep a gender-neutral language. The officials also suggested the makers change the reference of ‘Michael Jackson’ with ‘Lovebirds’ and replace the word ‘Kamal’ with its English word, lotus.
At the same time, CBFC recommended the film’s team remove the old disclaimer and swipe it with a new disclaimer comprising of a voice over. Lastly, they even asked the makers to add a specific quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose nature remains undisclosed. However, it was listed along with four other changes.
Aamir Khan refused two cuts asked by the Censor Board
According to multiple media reports, Sitaare Zameen Par faced an obstacle in its release after CBFC asked for two cuts in the film before giving clearance. However, Aamir, who is the lead actor and the producer of the film, declined it because he believed that the film should be released in its original form. Consequently, it caused a delay in getting certification, which is essential for the release of any film in India. But, Aamir and the makers had a meeting with the board officials where he explained the creative intent behind those parts after which the film was passed without any cuts. It received a U/A certificate, making it suitable to watch for individuals above 13 years of age.
