Aishwarya Rai is known globally as one of the most mesmerising and beautiful stars. She has not only charmed the audience with her on-screen presence, but she has also enchanted her co-stars as well. One of her co-stars, Zayed Khan, recently revealed the same and stated how he had a fanboy moment when he shared the screen with Aishwarya in the 2005 film, Shabd.
Zayed Khan revealed that he has been a fan of Aishwarya Rai since she won the Miss World pageant
Aishwarya Rai has been ruling over hearts since she won the Miss World title in 1994. Zayed Khan also became a fan of the beauty and revealed in a podcast with Siddharth Kannan that he used to keep a photo of her in his locker room. So, when he got an offer to work with her in Leena Yadav directed, Shabd, he was very excited. Zayed also stated that Aishwarya was a wonderful co-star to be with. He said in the podcast:
“Aish was such a professional and beautiful lady. I was a fan of Aish when she became Miss World. I used to have a picture of her in my locker room. I used to think, ‘This woman is a really gorgeous woman.’ So when I heard the script and they said that Aish is in the film, I was like, ‘Woah, where do I sign?’ I had a beautiful experience working with her. She is such a wonderful co-star to be with because she really knows how to play with you.”
Zayed Khan thought that it would be difficult to get over his fan moment with Aishwarya Rai
Zayed Khan said that many actors take their time to come to set and there is ‘drama’. In such cases, the actual work suffers, he further stated. So, he thought Aishwarya might do the same, and then he would have a difficult time getting over his fan moment. However, the actress just came in and asked Zayed if he would like to rehearse together. The Main Hoon Na actor thought that was ‘too cool’. In his own words, Zayed said:
“Sometimes you just see actors take so much time and then come, and there’ll be drama. The actual work suffers while everything else is taken care of. With Aish, I thought it would be so difficult to get over my fan moment, but she just came in and said, ‘Hi, do you want to do rehearsals together?’ I was like, this is too cool. She was a natural filter. God bless her.”

Released in 2005, Shabd was directed by Leena Yadav and starred Aishwarya Rai, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan in leading roles. The film was a love triangle and psychological thriller that showcased Sanjay as a passionate writer facing writer’s block who urged his wife (who was a professor) to woe one of her students so that he could use the story to write his novel. Aishwarya played the role of the wife, while Zayed played the student’s character. The film was praised for the acting and the story; however, it did not perform well at the box office. In the podcast, Zayed Khan said that the film was ‘way ahead of its time.’
