Following the horrific Ahmedabad plane crash, another incident claimed 7 lives. On June 15, 2025, a Uttarakhand helicopter crashed near Kedarnath, claiming 7 lives, including an infant. Among others, pilot, Rajveer Singh Chauhan, who was also a retired Lieutenant Colonel, lost his life. His demise is certainly tragic as after 14 years of marriage, he just welcomed his twins with his wife, Deepika Chauhan. Deepika is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. Now, a visual from his last rites made rounds on social media, and Deepika’s condition left our hearts scattered.

A video from late Lieutenant Colonel Rajveer Singh Chauhan’s last rites made rounds on social media. He was laid to rest with respect. In a glimpse, his widowed wife, who recently gave birth to their twins, was seen carrying his photo, while donning her uniform. She was seen breaking down in tears as she bid farewell to her husband. It’s surely heartbreaking for the entire family, who just celebrated the joy with the arrival of two kids after 14 years, now had to do the funeral of their father.
Rajveer Singh Chauhan was about to take a leave for 10 days for his twins’ welcome celebration
Life is unpredictable, and the back-to-back incidents which have been happening around us made us see it with a clear vision. Rajveer got married to Lt. Col. Deepika, and after 14 years of marital bliss, they welcomed twins just four months back. The entire family was preparing for a celebration, which was to take place after Rajveer’s return to his home. The family, who had already booked the venue for the celebration, remained shocked at the news of Rajveer’s death. His father told Dainik Bhasker that they got a call from Rajveer’s colleague about his demise. While breaking down in tears, Rajveer’s father said:
“Captain VK Singh, Rajveer’s colleague, called at 7:45 AM on Sunday. He informed about the helicopter crash in Kedarnath. According to him, Rajveer gave his last message during the helicopter flight saying, ‘I am taking a left turn for landing’. After that, the accident happened suddenly.’

Rajveer Singh Chauhan and his family originally belonged to a village near Mahwa in Dausa, and later they shifted their base to Jaipur. Rajveer had dreamed about becoming a pilot since he was a kid. He completed his graduation and actively participated in NCC. Known for his friendly nature, Rajveer, after 14 years of service, was posted as Lieutenant Colonel in Army Aviation at Pathankot. Later, he retired and joined Aryan Aviation Private Limited company. Initially, Rajveer was on the break for his wife, Deepika’s delivery.

Rajveer later rejoined and was in talks for a 10-day leave to be with his newborn twins. Talking about his wife, Deepika, she is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and was serving in Pathankot. Deepika was due for a promotion in the next month, and they decided to celebrate everything together before the blow of destiny arrived and took it all away. The couple got married in 2011, and after 14 years of their marriage, they welcomed twin babies.
