    Sonia Gandhi hospitalised due to stomach ailments: Doctor says she’s stable, under watch at Ganga Ram Hospital | India News – Times of India

    NEW DELHI: Sonia Gandhi, the Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, is in stable condition while receiving treatment for a stomach-related ailment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, according to an official update released on Monday.The 78-year-old Congress leader was hospitalised on Sunday evening.Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, issued a statement , quoted by PTI, saying, “She was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at 9 pm yesterday (June 15, 2025, Sunday), under the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology for a stomach-related issue. She is currently stable, and the doctors are closely monitoring her health.”The former Congress president had previously visited the same hospital for a medical check-up on June 9.Prior to this, she underwent medical tests at the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla following complaints of elevated blood pressure, two days before the check-up. Doctors at IGMC examined Sonia Gandhi’s health condition and reported that she was in stable condition. Dr Aman Chauhan, Deputy Medical Superintendent at IGMC, said, “Her blood pressure was slightly on the higher side, but there is nothing serious. Dr Chauhan added, “No additional tests were conducted; only routine investigations were carried out. She was not given any special medical advice because everything was perfectly fine.”
