The RajaSaab is a fresh addition to Prabhas’ filmography, giving the actor a vintage turn in the horror-comedy genre. The film is also one of the most awaited films of 2025. However, the anticipation has lasted longer than what the makers imagined and fans expected. Nonetheless, their weight might just be over as a glimpse of the film has finally been shared. For the unversed, the film was scheduled for April 2025, but the technical details postponed the release to December 2025. The teaser launch event on June 16, 2025, has finally given the fans some insight into what caused the delays.
The RajaSaab teaser was launched in a grand event on June 16, 2025, in Hyderabad, marking the commencement of the promotions. At the event, the film’s makers interacted with the media and answered some questions about the film in a press meet, including the most awaited question about what caused the film’s delay. TG Vishwa Prasad spoke about the film’s scale and was quoted as saying:
“I don’t know how Maruthi (the director) could manage that schedule. They would start shooting at 6 am and go on till 10 pm or 11 pm. And that went on for 120 days. This was just one schedule. Because of you will see the grandest 40-minute climax coming from those 120 days. After that, it took the VFX people 300 days to process that. But it is something we have not seen before. The VFX was very important. That led to the delay. I know everyone was disappointed. But it was important to deliver the right quality in best manner.”
Director Maruthi talks about pulling 18-hour shifts to shoot The RajaSaab
At the same event, Maruthi answered another question about what the audience can expect from The RajaSaab and revealed that with the film, he has tried to prove that Disney-like films, with a scale like Hollywood, can be made in India. He added that he worked 16-18 hours shift. However, he crlarified that the actors were not harassed, they were divided in two teams. He was quoted as saying:
“I had two shifts with some actors in one and some in the other. But, I worked up to 18 hours a day, as did these people (pointed to his DOP and producer). That was important if we wanted to finish a film of this scale in time.”
At the teaser launch event, co-producer SKN also shared that he had high hopes for the film and said it would ‘repeat history’ at the box office. The RajaSaab stars Prabhas alongside Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Boman Irani. The film has been created on a massive scale and will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. SKN was quoted as saying:
“In 2023, December first week came Animal. In 2024, it was Pushpa Part 2. And in 2025, December first week, it will be The RajaSaab.”
