Karnataka has implemented a ban on bike taxi services, affecting companies like Rapido, Ubermoto, and Ola. The ban follows a court order and comes amidst safety concerns, including a recent incident where a woman was assaulted by a bike taxi driver. Commuters express difficulties with increased travel times and costs. The ban impacts approximately 1.2 lakh gig workers who depend on bike taxis for their livelihood. The bike taxi association has appealed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi to revoke the ban.
