Aamir Khan has grabbed the headlines many times with his phenomenal performances in films that broke records. However, the actor has also been the talk of the town with his many controversies. There have also been boycott calls made against him. Recently, Aamir Khan opened up on whether these boycott campaigns hurt him. The actor also admitted that once he had said that his rivals, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, must have sent him the film, Dangal.
Aamir Khan confirmed that he had said that Dangal must have been sent by his rivals
Aamir Khan, in Aap Ki Adalat show, admitted that he had once said as a joke that Dangal must have been sent by his contemporaries, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, to end his career. Aamir, who had mostly portrayed characters in their 30s-40s in previous films, had essayed the role of an elderly father. So, Aamir said that he had meant it as a joke to the director, Nitesh Tiwari, that his rivals might have sent the role of Dangal to him, to show his ‘reality’. The actor said:
“Maine kaha Nitesh ji (director of Dangal) iss waqt kya hai ki logo ko badi galat-fehmi hai, unko lagta hai ki main 30-35 ka hun, aur aap jo film bana rhe hai agar main kar lu to meri asliyat unke saamne aa jaygi. To iss lihaz se maine mazaak mein kaha tha ki aap logo ko Salman-Shah Rukh ne to nahi bheja, isko dangal do phir isko out kar dete hai, isko hatao yaar.”
Aamir Khan talks about whether boycott calls affect him
Aamir Khan recently answered a fan’s question on the same show about whether boycott campaigns affected him. The star said that he thinks that his audience knows him very well. Aamir differentiated between his viewers and the trolls and further stated that the latter tried to boycott him, but he has complete faith in the viewers. So, the star is of the opinion that the boycott campaigns are carried out by trolls but not by his fans and the general audience.
“Mujhe lagta hai ki meri audience mujhe achhe se jaanti hai. Trolls koshish karte hai lekin meri audience pe mujhe poora bharosha hai.”
Aamir Khan says that he has a deep connection with the viewers
Aamir Khan talked about his bond with the viewers and said that he has a deep connection with them. He further mentioned that it is not because of his films; rather, the bond was made because of the way Aamir lives his life. The actor also accepted that he had made mistakes in the past, like everyone else. However, he has also learned from his mistakes. In his own words, Aamir said:
“Meri audience se mera bahut gehra rishta hai, and ye rishta sirf filmon se nahi balki ye rista hai jis tarah se maine apni jindagi jee hai. Haan Haan, mujhse galtiyaan hui, galtiyaan kisse nahi hoti, lekin main apni galtiyon se seekha hu.”
